Platform manual

1000cc 4×4 UTV / side-by-side

Twin-cylinder 800–1000 cc liquid-cooled EFI engines with CVT transmission, selectable 2WD/4WD with locking differential, independent suspension. The service items that matter are CVT belt, differential/gearbox oils and driveline boots — plus keeping the CVT dry.

Read this first. Every value on this page is typical or indicative for the 1000cc 4×4 UTV / side-by-side class, compiled for dealer workshops. Yangtze Moto Export is an export company, not the manufacturer. The owner’s and service manual supplied with each unit prevails wherever it differs; where a value is not printed in your manual, use these as a starting point and confirm by inspection.

Break-in

  1. 0–10 hours / 300 km: vary throttle, avoid full-throttle, avoid towing.
  2. CVT belt break-in: 50 km of gentle on/off throttle so the belt beds to the sheaves — this alone prevents most early belt failures.
  3. First service at 10–20 hours / 500 km: engine oil + filter, diff oils, check CVT belt deflection and pulley faces, re-torque wheel nuts, A-arm bolts and skid plates, check CV boots.

Common issues

SymptomLikely causeFix
Will not start; dash lights but no crankBattery low, brake pedal not pressed (interlock), gear not in P/N, seat-belt interlock on some models.Charge battery; press brake; confirm P/N; check seat-belt switch plug under the seat.
CVT belt slips / burning smellBelt not bedded, water in the CVT case, or oil contamination from a leaking seal.Bed the belt (50 km gentle); drain CVT housing via the drain plug at the bottom; clean pulleys with brake cleaner; replace belt if glazed.
Overheats at low speedRadiator mud-packed, fan fuse/relay, air lock.Pressure-wash the radiator from the engine side; check the 30 A fan fuse; bleed.
4WD will not engage / diff-lock light flashesActuator plug off, vacuum/electric actuator stuck, or engaging while rolling.Engage 4WD at standstill or rolling straight below 5 km/h; check the actuator connector on the front diff; cycle the switch 3× with the key on.
Clunk on take-offDriveshaft splines dry or U-joint play.Grease splines; check U-joints — claimable if loose on PDI.
Steering pulls / wandersToe out of spec after shipping tie-downs; tie-rod ends loose.Set toe to ≈ 0–3 mm toe-in; torque tie-rod nuts; check EPS connector if fitted.
Fault code on EFIConnector loosened in transit.Read via diagnostic port (kit available); reseat connectors under the hood and seat.

Tools & safety

Workshop tools

  • Metric sockets to 36 mm; impact wrench
  • Torque wrench to 200 Nm
  • CVT clutch puller (model-specific)
  • Grease gun
  • Coolant pressure tester
  • Diagnostic reader
  • Floor jack & stands rated 1 t

Safety notes

  • Never run the engine with the CVT cover off.
  • Support on stands, not the jack, when working under the vehicle.
  • ROPS bolts: torque on assembly and re-check at first service — this is a life-safety item.
